I have a few fields on an application that I want to disable by default but still be in view. I don’t see this as an option in the Application Builder. How would I accomplish this?
There are a few ways you can accomplish this.
In Application Builder, you can click on the field you want to disable in the center panel and in the basic properties panel towards the bottom, you will see a disable check box.
You can also disable a field from an app setting. You would go to the layout page and there is a subtable called Field Options. You can choose your field there to disabled.
You can also use a form init logic block to disable your field if you need other logic to drive it.
@joeyates23 I’m not seeing that option in the basic panel. This seems like the best option for my setup though. Should I submit a support ticket or is there something different about my field? I do have an application setting so I think that may work for me also
@joeyates23 Thinking about this a little more. This was a layout for an application. Is there something unique about them that might be different from a regular application type?
Yes, with layout applications, we only allow you to update where fields are and not properties on those fields. So the application setting or the logic block route would be your best bet for disabling in this use case.
