Extending Search Action Filters

A partner wants to ADD TO a base search action. They want to filter by an additional field. Is there a way to do this?

  1. When we extend the app and add another app setting, that doesn’t work. The base app setting overrides it. I see it in the metadata.json

  2. They can customize the app setting, but that won’t make it to the customer?

What are our options?

I am not aware of any other options for accomplishing this.
