Change the Check Image to Match Bank Requirements

I see that a generic check image can be printed, but that image doesn’t conform to what my bank requires. For example, I need to move the MICR line because it doesn’t line up with what the bank requires. Is there a way for me to update the check image and move the different items around?

Because almost every company uses a different check format, users are able to customize the Check report to reflect their individual needs. The functionality will still populate the Check correctly, but users can use their own images and move the fields around.

How do I customize the check report?

To customize the Check Report in your environment, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Report Builder App and find the base Check Report. Select the row action on that base report to “Copy” the report. This will create a name-spaced, owned version of the base report.
  2. Determine which of the sub-reports to the Check that you want to change the fields on. Today, we offer a sub-report with or without MICR. Select the row action on that report to “Copy” the sub-report, which will create a sub-report that is name-spaced and owned, just like the main Check Report from Step 1.
  3. On your version of the sub-report, double click to open the report. Move the fields around in the Report Builder until you are satisfied. Save this report.
  4. Navigate to the App Builder and search for the Check Report App. If you do not already have a customized version of this App, select the row action on that report to customize it.
  5. In the customized version of your App, switch the field that points to the base report and replace it with your name-spaced main Check Report that you created in Step 1.
