How can I easily import Journal Entries?

Looking to import Journal Entries from a spreadsheet? Is there a simple/fast way to do this in the system that does not involve Data Import Definitions and Integration Tables/Applications?

There are 3 ways to import data into a journal entry without using an import definition.

  1. Browse and Select
  2. Drag and drop
  3. Copy paste directly from an Excel or .csv file.

Create a journal entry and from the form action choose Import Data from the list.

TIP: populate the company field first so that the Import data option is available.
TIP: You can export the JE .csv template from the Import Data option.

If you use Browse and Select or Drag and Drop on the pop-up use the .csv file format.

If you use Copy and paste then copy the entire JE dataset, including the header row, from the template and click on Import from Clipboard on the pop-up.

All 3 options will populate the details on the journal entry you are creating.
