New Feature: Time Zone Display

Beginning with this release, you have more visibility and control over the time zone used to display date time field values in Nextworld. By default, date time fields are now displayed using either the user’s browser time zone or the time zone configured for the user’s environment. Additionally, a Custom Time Zone user profile setting gives users the ability to override the default and set their preferred time zone.

Time Zone indicator:

  • The system will now display your current Time Zone in the footer next to the current Date.
  • Hovering over this value will show date, time, locale, full time zone, and offset from GMT.

There are two new time zone settings, one for the system administrator and one for each user:

Display Preferred Time Zone: System Admin

  • You can now display one consistent time zone to all users regardless of where they’re located.
  • On the Tenant Environment Setup application, navigate to the Environment step and select “Display Time Zone.” When this is true, all users will see the Default Time Zone of the current environment instead of their own browser time zone: users get to see date time fields on the platform represented in the context of their company instead of where the users are currently located. When left empty, users have a default time zone set according to their browser.

Custom Time Zone: Users

  • You can now choose to display date time fields in any time zone.
  • In the user profile settings, navigate to the Locale page and turn on Time ZoneCustom, then enter a custom time zone value. This will override either the Environment’s default time zone or your browser time zone and allows you to see date time fields represented in any time zone you desire.
