Disable Currency Code on Currency fields in UI

Are we able to disable currency codes on a currency field in the UI?

We are setting all currency fields to that of the transaction currency in a Multi Currency environment but the user can still change the code resulting in a data integrity problem.

Hello –

There are a number of ways to tackle this problem depending on how you want to handle it.

At a system level, admins can choose to hide the currency code across the whole environment using the User Interface Settings. This might be too comprehensive for you since it sounds like users still need to be able to set multiple currencies in this environment.

You can also choose to disable it through a field-level dependency on the App itself. This would be field-by-field and App-by-App.

Hi CJ,

Thanks for the refresher. This will be exactly what we need.

Would recommend that if docs are search or if Ed is prompted with something like “How do I disable a currency code on a currency field?” that field dependencies come up a search result.
