It looks like I am forced to customize a Cox-owned app in our non-testing environment in order to generate, otherwise I get an error on generation. Is this expected? Do we always have to customize every application?
Hello Ellen, you should not need to customize every application to generate it. It is expected that an application with Base ownership cannot be generated because non-base tenants do not own the object. Base owned objects should be in a generated and runnable state upon delivery, and should therefore not require generation. The only reason to customize an application is to allow customization changes to be made to the application, not to run it in its delivered state.
Thank you Robert! I was under same impression but was not able to generate a Cox-owned application without customizing. I will write up a freshdesk ticket. Thank you!
Ellen, I want to make sure I didn’t create confusion with my first sentence. In a non-base tenant, you cannot generate a Base owned application; this is expected. You should not be required to generate a Base owned applicaiton, it should be delivered in a runable state that does not require generation.
Understood, in my use case I was in E2ENext (not base tenant) and was trying to launch and app from app builder. Nothing would launch and I would receive and error until I customized and generated the application. Waiting for a patch to move this app into another environment to confirm this is not working as expected.
