In regards to the new release of the Guided Tour Builder, I have some questions around the functionality of how a Guided Tour will function.
- Will all of the tours be available on any page?
- Do you have to be on the page the tour will go through in order for the tour to work? Or if you are not on the correct page with the tour take you to the correct page to view the guided tour?
- If you navigate to a page where a new guided tour was built, will it auto start the tour or do you have to use the drop down to start the tour any time?
- If the tour will auto start, can you delay the start of the guided tour to pop up the next time you join the page and not have to review now?
- If the tour will auto start, can you mark the tour as done without having to go through it so it won’t start again the next time you enter the same page?
- What is the maximum number of Guided Tours allowed?
- Will the Guided Tours disappear over time or will they exist forever?
Hi Brie! Thanks for reaching out about Guided Tours:
- The Tours are currently tied to Applications; all Guided Tours related to an App will be available while user is viewing that Application. In the future, we hope to broaden this.
- Because they are tied to the Application that the user is viewing, there is no need to navigate the user to any other page. Again, this might be different in the future.
- Today, you need to start the tour from the drop down. We hope to offer “self-starting” tours in the future.
- We would hope to offer a number of ways to auto-start a Guided Tour in the future.
- Same answer as #4 above; that is a future enhancement.
- As far as I know, there is no limit to the number of Guided Tours per App
- If left alone, they will exist forever. However, the owner of the Guided Tour might decide to delete or stop showing at any point, and then the users would stop seeing them.
