Why Is the tax-exempt permit number on the detail of the sales order when it should be pulled from the customer, meaning it wouldn’t change per detail, since the customer is in the header.
There is a Ship-To customer on the detail. You could be buying material to be shipped to multiple customer sites, one of which is tax exempt. The Customer Tax Category on the detail will drive the tax exemption for those specific sites.
Are we able to request the tax-exempt permit number be moved to the header? What would that process look like? Should we have a meeting on this? We don’t need the item tax category or customer tax category to be moved
That’s wonderful news, great! I see the tax permit number is also a common field between the header and detail. My product manager, Tiani, has requested that the Tax Permit expiry date be added to the header as well. Are you able to move the tax permit to the accounting tab, along with its expiry date? Or would we need to meet over that.
Can’t you do that as an extension? Make sure you move the Customer Tax Category too as they go together.
@alex the types of changes you’re asking for are typically accomplished using application layouts and/or application customizations.
Can we move NW-owned fields to a NW-owned tab in the application? i thought we could only make our own tabs in customizations.
@alex you’re correct, NW-owned fields cannot be move on NW-owned tabs via customization - my mistake. Application Layouts is the answer for that.
At a minimum, just moving the tax-exempt permit number to the accounting tab and adding a tax-exempt permit expiry date next to it is really all we need.
From there, we can make it work beyond that. This would probably be a 1-2 task, its a very easy uptake and it wouldn’t break any existing functionality, since your just moving the field in the UI.
@alex you need to create an Application Layout to move whatever fields are of interest from the Shipping to the Accounting tab. Nextworld’s preference for the base product is for them to remain on the shipping tab due to their association with the shipping address.
I cannot speak to the tax-exempt permit expiry date being added.
