For labels I can go to the print job monitor and see the ZPL for the label. Then copy and past that into a ZPL viewer online to see what the actual label would look like without printing it. Is there a way to view the print jobs in EPP that were printed on a laser (Lexmark, HP, ect) printer in the same way. For testing I would like to look at what printed without physically printing it each time I make a change. EPP Version: 10.0.0.5.987
Hi James,
This is something you can kinda-sorta do with the ‘HP LaserJet & Compatible’ [PCL5e] labels that EPP generates, but you won’t be able to copy the label data shown in the EPP Printer and Job Monitor page, as some characters in PCL won’t be reflected in the web page preview. However, you can find the generated .pcl job files in the EPP installations ‘..\DSIPrint\Data\’ directory; though the files in this directory are only available for 24 hours. If you have a PCL viewer or converter, then you can import these PCL files to see a preview of the output.
Alternatively, you can also send the label prints to a paused Windows print queue and then navigate to the Windows Spooler folder and import the pending .spl spool files, which will contain the PCL5e data. The Windows Spooler path for pending print files is C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS\.
