When creating an entry in Directory Cross Reference for Avalara, if there are multiple companies each needing their own Avalara connection, do we need to create one for each company? And if some company don’t have Avalara setup in the base module setting for taxes, do we then skip the entry in directory cross reference for that company?
In a multi-company environment, cross-reference records ensure the correct company code is used when calculating taxes. A record should be created for each company configured to use Avalara.
If a cross-reference record is not created, Avalara will default to the company configured as the default in its system.
If a company is not set up to calculate taxes in Avalara, a cross-reference record is not required.
