Say my kit definition has changed where instead of A1 and B1 being the components of the kit, it is now A1 and B2.
Can I modify the Kit BOM to get rid of B1 and add B2, and not break older sales orders that included it at the time?
Hi Ian! Yes, you can do this and not break older sales orders that included the deleted component. When a kit is added to a sales order, we reference the Kit Bill of Materials as it was on the day the kit was added. It is a snapshot in time. If the component gets deleted / updated, then all new sales orders using that kit will have the new Kit Bill of Materials. There is no referential integrity so old orders will not be impacted.
