Hi Ian! If I am understanding correctly, you want the ability to enter a kit on a sales order detail and have B1 automatically load in. Then, if the user wants to change it, they can go into the Kit Selection and switch to B2.
If that is the case, then we do not currently support that. As a workaround, users can have to mark B1 and B2 as optional on the Kit Bill of Materials. Then, after entering the kit on the sales order detail, they can navigate to the Kit Selection to pick which one they want.
If you are a Nextworld customer or partner, you can work with your system administrator to submit an official enhancement request with customer support. Include a link to this post in the support ticket. If you’re not a Nextworld customer, keep an eye on release notes. We’re always making improvements.
Can you think of any hooks or locations in the logic associated with kits that a partner or customer could latch onto where they might be able to get this type of behavior given it’s not in the base product?
In Kit Bill of Materials they can probably use the KitSelectionCode and populate it with DEFAULT. They can then extend AutoLoadKitComponentsForSalesOrderDetail and add their own logic to fetch the KitSelectionComponents where KitSelectionCode = DEFAULT then call InsertKitSelectionToSalesForAutoLoading.
