Do kits get split based on the availability of the components?

Assume kit K contains components C1 and C2 where both are required and specify a Qty of 1 EA.

If I order 10 EA of K and C1 has availability of 2 and C2 has availability of 10 as follows

  • 10 EA K
    • 10 EA C1 (2 available, 8 backorder)
    • 10 EA C2 ( 10 available)

When I send the order for picking, will the order be split something like this?

  • 2 EA K Open
    • 2 EA C1
    • 2 EA C2
  • 8 EA K Backordered
    • 8 EA C1 (backordered)
    • 8 EA C2

Assuming backordering is allowed that would be the case. The only difference for not allowing backordering would be the status of your 8 ct line being Revise instead of backordered.

It should appear as

  • 8 EA K Revise
  •     8 EA C1 (Revise)

  •     8 EA C2 (Open)
