I have a Sales Order detail using a stock item with an org unit defined. When I process the item through picking. I have to release and pick from a different org unit, sometimes multiple different org units than the one I have on my SO.
What could cause this? The shipment ends up in the same org unit. How is the fulfillment warehouse determined for item fulfillment?
When a sales line assigned to one org unit is fulfilled by a different org unit, the fulfillment source is determined using the Supply Demand Relationships application. While factors such as item availability and the inventory commitment method at the org unit level also influence which warehouse is ultimately selected, it is the supply–demand relationships that define which org units are eligible to be considered.
For example, if the sales line’s org unit is Warehouse_West but it is fulfilled by Warehouse_North, there is a supply–demand relationship where Warehouse_West represents demand and Warehouse_North represents supply.
Similarly, if that same sales line is fulfilled from multiple org units other than Warehouse_West, it means there are multiple supply–demand relationships in which Warehouse_West is on the demand side.
